52-week high breakout
Closing at a fresh 52-week high on above-average volume — the classic Darvas-style entry.
A stock making its highest close in a year has no overhead supply left: nobody who bought in the last twelve months is sitting on a loss and waiting to get out even. The volume filter is what separates a real breakout from a drift to new highs on nothing, which tends to fall straight back through the level.
